Bridgitus Learning – Code of Conduct

Bridgitus Learning is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment. Our Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour expected from students, parents/guardians, and tutors, in line with Australian school and child safety standards.
1. Guiding Principles
All members of the Bridgitus Learning community are expected to:
- Treat others with respect, courtesy, and fairness.
- Act with honesty and integrity.
- Support a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Follow policies, procedures, and reasonable instructions.
2. Student Code of Conduct
Students are expected to:
- Attend lessons on time, ready to learn, with required materials.
- Put in effort, listen carefully, and participate respectfully.
- Follow tutor instructions and classroom rules.
- Use respectful language and behaviour at all times.
- Respect the rights, safety, and privacy of others.
- Use technology responsibly and only for learning purposes during sessions.
Unacceptable behaviours include:
- Bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.
- Disruptive behaviour that prevents learning.
- Inappropriate use of technology, including recording or sharing without consent.
3. Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct
Parents and guardians are expected to:
- Support their child's learning by ensuring regular attendance and punctuality.
- Provide a suitable learning environment at home (for online sessions).
- Communicate respectfully with tutors and staff.
- Respect tutor expertise and professional boundaries.
- Raise concerns in a constructive and respectful manner.
- Ensure that all payments and administrative requirements are met on time.
4. Tutor Code of Conduct
Tutors engaged by Bridgitus Learning are expected to:
- Provide high-quality, professional, and student-focused tutoring.
- Treat all students and families with respect, fairness, and care.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Keep accurate student records and respect confidentiality.
- Comply with child safety requirements, including Working With Children Checks (WWCC) and relevant legislation.
5. Child Safety Commitment
Bridgitus Learning upholds the principles of the Child Safe Standards in Australia. We are committed to:
- Protecting children from harm, abuse, or neglect.
- Acting promptly on concerns relating to child safety.
- Ensuring tutors are appropriately screened and trained.
6. Breaches of the Code
- Minor breaches may result in a verbal reminder or discussion.
- Serious or repeated breaches may result in suspension or termination of enrolment or engagement.
- Illegal behaviour or child safety concerns will be reported to the relevant authorities.
7. Review and Updates
This Code of Conduct may be reviewed and updated regularly to reflect best practice, school standards, and legal requirements.
8. Payments and Fees
- Fees must be paid in advance as per the payment schedule provided at enrolment.
- Payments can be made via approved methods (e.g., bank transfer, direct debit, credit card).
- We reserve the right to suspend or cancel tutoring services if payments are overdue.
- All fees are quoted in Australian dollars (AUD) and may be subject to change with reasonable notice.
9. Cancellations and Rescheduling
- If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, you must provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
- Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
- If a tutor is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we will provide a replacement tutor or reschedule at no additional cost.
- Missed sessions (without notice) are non-refundable.
10. Responsibilities
Our Responsibilities:
- To provide qualified tutors who deliver professional and supportive learning services.
- To maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
- To provide progress feedback to parents/guardians when appropriate.
Your Responsibilities:
- To ensure students attend sessions on time and with the required materials.
- To provide a suitable learning environment for online or in-person sessions.
- To treat tutors and staff with respect at all times.
11. Confidentiality and Privacy
- All personal information collected will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available on our website).
- Tutors may keep records of student progress to support learning but these will remain confidential.
12. Limitation of Liability
- While we make every effort to support students’ learning, we do not guarantee specific academic results.
- To the extent permitted by law, Bridgitus Learning is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in our tutoring services.
- Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
13. Termination of Services
- You may terminate enrolment by providing written notice. Fees for unused prepaid sessions may be refundable at our discretion (subject to cancellation policy).
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services if:
- Fees remain unpaid,
- There is inappropriate behaviour by the student or parent/guardian, or
- There is a breach of these Terms.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will be made available on our website.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the applicable laws and courts in your state or territory.
